This painting depicts a Western Harrier and his mate hunting sage grouse in amongst the strange hoodoo formations found near Vernal, Utah.  There are many aspects of this painting that cannot be seen without close inspection.  The hoodoos are actually watching the drama unfold at their feet.  Other creatures hidden amongst the sagebrush are also witnesses to the onslaught.  The best thing to do, is get a closer look!  There is a coyote, a young mule deer, a buck deer, a juvenile sage grouse, and faces on the rocks.
